“Arrested Development” movie script is half-way written

Last we heard on the creation of the Arrested Development movie, it was a no-go. At least that’s what comedian & AD veteran David Cross said only a few months ago. Well now it seems that creator Mitch Hurwitz hasn’t given up and already has half of the script written. According to him, “It’s not going to be a big money maker. It’s going to be fun, like a family reunion. The only stumbling block could be scheduling. Everybody wants to play together.” [Hollywood News]

One of my absolute favorite books from high school, It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini is being released as a movie September 24th! My Indie-Rock-High-School-Heart is ready to explode with awkward glory.

In related young “sub cultural” teen fiction news, word on the street is Stephen Chbosky’s Perks of being a Wallflower is being picked up as a screenplay as well. I’m shaking in my tattered doodled-on chucks & dickies pants with excitement.

If you’ve taken a stroll or ride down Columbus Boulevard in Philadelphia, you may have noticed two homeless men standing ever so paintly on the median train tracks that separate the lanes of traffic, holding signs up asking for change. Meet Charles Levy and Guy Thompson, a homeless duo who has been laboring the same spot for the past 7 years.

Samuel Nalband, a graduate of the University of the Arts, took almost an entire year to film this 2008 1st place student film documentary winner: “Charlie & Guy”. As you’ll find out in this film, both men’s lives were very much different before hardship struck. It’s a short, sweet, & heatbreaking peak into these mens lives
