One of my absolute favorite books from high school, It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini is being released as a movie September 24th! My Indie-Rock-High-School-Heart is ready to explode with awkward glory.
In related young “sub cultural” teen fiction news, word on the street is Stephen Chbosky’s Perks of being a Wallflower is being picked up as a screenplay as well. I’m shaking in my tattered doodled-on chucks & dickies pants with excitement.
Today is the day you can witness the mile long Wawa hoagie! Head over to the PMA around 7pm for a Welcome America celebration of hoagies, art, and Rocky look-alikes. Yes, there will in fact be a Rocky look-a-like contest as well as a free screening of the movie.
The day begins with 150 Wawa associates who will build a 1 ¼ mile long hoagie at Wawa University. Together, they will create the Hoagie Day feast from hundreds of pounds of ingredients that will be loaded onto a refrigerated truck and served free to attendees at Hoagie Day. In addition, Wawa will send truckloads of hoagies built that morning to Philadebundance food bank. (more…)
Definitely seeing this film! ‘Nowhere Boy’ is a chronicle of the early life of John Lennon (played by Kickass! lead Aaron Johnson). The movie is set to release October 8th of this year. Check out the trailer below.
I don’t think Americans will ever fully except Trailer Park Boys. But we love ‘em! Just in case you missed it, Ricky, Julian, & Bubbles were on Jimmy Kimmel Live about a week ago.
The reason I bring this to your attention is how ‘delicious’ this movie looks. Visually awesome, like Willy Wonka meets skateboarding. Thanks a lot to Yis for passing this over.
